Sebaceous hyperplasia appears as small, raised, skin-coloured or yellowish bumps, most commonly across the forehead and cheeks. They occur when the sebaceous glands become enlarged and are particularly common as we age.
For me, treatment is about carefully reducing or removing those individual enlarged sebaceous glands so the skin looks smoother, clearer and more refined.
This treatment is for clients who have small, raised sebaceous hyperplasia lesions that have already been checked and confirmed as benign and suitable for cosmetic treatment.
I'll assess the area and, once I know the lesions have been appropriately identified, I can treat them individually and precisely.
I'm not diagnosing skin lesions, and some sebaceous hyperplasia can look similar to other types of skin lesions.
If you have a new, changing or unusual lesion, I strongly recommend having it professionally checked first. I will never treat an uncertain lesion simply for cosmetic purposes.
I'll also ask you to wait if the skin is irritated, inflamed, broken or otherwise not in a suitable condition for treatment.
I use controlled energy to carefully target each individual lesion and reduce or remove the enlarged sebaceous tissue.
Radiofrequency or CO2 laser.
The treatment is highly precise, allowing me to work on individual bumps while minimising unnecessary disruption to the surrounding skin. I'll select the appropriate treatment approach based on the individual lesion and the area being treated.
Treatment time and pricing depend on the number and size of the lesions being treated.
I'll assess the area first and determine how much treatment time is required, then provide you with the appropriate pricing before proceeding.

The biggest thing I keep repeating is: please have every lesion checked and confirmed as benign before coming to me for cosmetic removal.
Many individual lesions can be treated in one session, although new lesions can develop or existing sebaceous hyperplasia can recur over time.
The treated areas can be temporarily red or darker, and a small superficial crust may form while the skin heals. I'll provide personalised aftercare to support the healing process.
Results vary from person to person.
