EGCG is a powerful antioxidant derived from green tea.
I especially like it for skin that is red, reactive, environmentally stressed or showing signs of ageing, and for anyone wanting to support the overall quality and resilience of their skin.
I particularly love adding EGCG directly after LED light therapy, but it can also be incorporated immediately after selected laser treatments.
It's a wonderfully versatile addition, and I can decide when it makes sense according to the treatment I've performed and what your skin needs on the day.
I wouldn't automatically use EGCG on every skin. If the skin is very irritated, acutely inflamed, broken, infected or otherwise compromised, I may leave it out and allow the skin to settle first.
I'll also consider what treatment we've just performed and what else has been applied to the skin. More is not always better. I want the EGCG to make sense as part of the treatment rather than simply adding another product because I can.
dermaviduals EGCG Liposomes, Intense Renewal Serum
It is a pipette-bottle formulation containing pure epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) in a phosphatidylcholine liposomal dispersion.
After I have cleansed the skin and completed the LED light therapy, I apply the EGCG directly to the skin as the final active step of the treatment.
EGCG Liposomes, $35 add-on
Applied to the full face, neck and chest following your standalone Cleanse & LED Light Therapy treatment or selected laser treatments.
The thing I find myself repeating is don't underestimate what you can add to a treatment simply by putting the right active on the skin at the right time.
It's a small addition to the treatment, but it can make the overall treatment more purposeful, and that is exactly how I like to use serums.
